214 TFW LADDER COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS
-= LADDER NOW OPEN =-
LADDER OPS |
The Ladder is quite simple. And is COMPLETELY voluntary. You are NOT required to participate. As well, you can leave the Ladder competition anytime you wish. Simply tell Me, Widowmaker, and I'll remove you from the competition. When the ladder starts, those who have expressed a desire to participate will be randomly seeded into the ladder. To join the ladder after that, you must go into the members area link, click on JOIN and type in your callsign. That will place you into the competition at the bottom of the ladder board. You are free to ask anyone on the Ladder to fly, however, you must be in the top 10 to challenge the #1 pilot to a match (cuts down on the #1 guy having to fly everyone that wants to move up fast). Pick your place and time, meet up and fly. You cannot move DOWN the ladder if you loose a match. You gain position by beating someone higher than you. The mathmatics are quite simple (hey even simple mathmatics are a pain in the ass to program) The Difference between the winning pilots rank, and the loosing pilots rank is computed. If the winner is ranked higher than the loser, then no rankings change. If the winner however, is ranked lower than his opponent, then the rankings change. The difference is calculated and divded by two. The winning pilot then moves up that many ladder slots. Fairly simple. The Ladder will keep track of current Ladder wins and losses, last opponent, date of last flight and your previous rank. When you submit a match, the kills aquired by both winner and loser are to be reported. These numbers, along with win/loss will be added to your Sierra Hotel Tally as well. |
FALCON SETTINGS |
FALCON MUST BE set for realism. The game HOST must set the following for RULES OF ENGAGEMENT when starting the match : Flight Model : Accurate THE FOLLOWING are to be UNCHECKED Invulnerability THE FOLLOWING is the only thing to have a CHECK Disable Clouds |
MATCH SETTINGS |
Matches are to be played in either the Training Server, or one of the match pilots can host on thier own machine. Dofight will be selected and you will use the MATCH PLAY option. Settings are:
|
FLIGHT |
Once both Pilots are in the cockpit, you will head straight for each other. Each pilot is expected to call TALLY when they have a visual on thier opponent. Combatants will fly directly towards each other and attempt to PASS as close to one another as possible. As soon as the aircraft are alongside each other, pilots are weapons free and can turn and engage. (This is refered to as the free pass). After the pass, anything goes. Hostilities continue until one pilot is shot down or crashes. The mission will restart, and you will engage again as described above.
|
SCORING |
A match is to three Kills. You achieve a Kill by the following methods: 1. You shoot your opponent and he explodes, ejects or lawn darts. The following constitutes NO kill / Draw : 1. You collide and both explode
|
ENDING RESULTS |
Once a Pilot has achieved three kills, the match is over. READ THIS SECTION 25 TIMES! To submit the match, only the LOSER is to report. The LOSING pilot must immediately log into the website, enter the members area link and submit the match results. I swear, in the old Falcon 4.0 group. I cannot tell you how many times both pilots tried to report a match, even after I stated in the rules that only the LOSER reports it. It is very important that this rule is followed, since the ladder is now automated. As soon as the match form is submitted, the programming does everything on its own. I dont touch anything. So, If both pilots report it, it will screw up the score tallys and proper rankings and I will be quite unhappy. If you screw this up, I will ban your ass from the ladder for being stupid.
